New Asuran posters reveal different moods of Dhanush

In Asuran, which has been directed by Vetrimaaran, Dhanush will be seen playing dual roles. He will be essaying the characters of father and son.

Actor Dhanush on Thursday, 22 August, unveiled two new posters from his upcoming Tamil film, Asuran. The posters revealed two different moods of Dhanush, who is seen calm in one poster while consumed with rage in the other.

In Asuran, which has been directed by Vetrimaaran, Dhanush will be seen playing dual roles as father and son.

The new poster reveals Dhanush as the son, sporting a pencil mustache and filled with rage.

Asuran marks the Tamil debut of popular Malayalam actress Manju Warrier. She has been paired opposite Dhanush for the first time and this exciting combination has already created quite a buzz on social media.

The film also stars popular Tamil director Balaji Sakthivel, known for helming critically-acclaimed films like Kaadhal (2004) and Vazhakku Enn 18/9 (2013), as the antagonist.

Composer GV Prakash Kumar has been signed to take care of music and this will be his fourth collaboration with Dhanush and third with Vetrimaaran. He recently recorded a song featuring Dhanush’s voice for the album.

Asuran is based on the popular Tamil novel Vekkai by Poomani. It is tipped to be a revenge drama that traces the fight of an oppressed community against those oppressing them.

Having wrapped up Asuran, which is gearing up release this October; Vetrimaaran will now return to finish the pending work on the second part of the multigenerational gangster drama franchise Vada Chennai (2018), which featured Dhanush as a carrom player who gets sucked into the world of politics and rowdyism.
