Satish Kaushik enters Marathi cinema by producing Mann Udhan Wara

The screenplay and dialogues are written by the celebrated filmmaker duo Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukthankar.

Veteran Hindi film actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik has now forayed into Marathi cinema with his first production, Mann Udhan Wara (2019). 

The film stars Kishore Kadam, Uttara Baokar, Sagar Karande, Sharvari Lohokare, Monal Gajjar and others. According to the makers, the film is a love story but it will make the audience experience a different aspect of life. 

“I felt I should produce a film which has a different viewpoint. Hence, I produced Mann Udhan Wara, a soft and emotional film,” Kaushik said in an official statement. 

Interestingly, the screenplay and dialogues are written by the celebrated filmmaker duo Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukthankar. The film is the directorial debut of cinematographer Sanjay Memane who has shot a number of acclaimed films like Shwaas (2004), Vastupurush (2005), Nital (2006), Lai Bhaari (2014), Half Ticket (2016) and Ascharya F**k It (2019). 

Revealing more about Mann Udhan Wara, an official statement from the makers said, “With a very fluid and beautiful story, the movie is produced with the enchanting landscape of Konkan as the backdrop. The all-encompassing nature and intent have always been the strength of Marathi films.” 

The film is jointly produced by Satish Kaushik Entertainment and Loka Entertainment and presented by Jayantilal Gada under his banner Pen Movies. 

Mann Udhan Wara is due to be released on 11 October.
