Saaho song 'Bad Boy': Badshah raps up the swag for Prabhas's bad boy image

Being a 'bad boy' is certainly in vogue these days, and Prabhas has Badshah to thank for getting that image rectified. The actor brings on his share of attitude as he swaggers onto the screen with Jacqueline Fernandez in the latest song, 'Bad Boy' from Saaho (2019). Sung and composed by Badshah, the song also has Neeti Mohan adding to the magic.
The visuals of the song are stereotypical of every popular Punjabi rap video that has ever released. With a lavish swimming pool in the middle of a desert, and Prabhas being the centre of attention. While the women cavort around the swimming pool, it is left to Prabhas (in Badshah's voice) to deliver the song.
The song works with Badshah's voice, but the lyrics feel too superficial. The song plays to the stereotype of the 'bad boy' image, and one that Prabhas is working hard to change. But the actor feels like a fish out of water, even as he tries to play up the 'swagger'. Perhaps, the actor is too cool to play the centre of attention.
Jacqueline Fernandez brings up the glamour with her appearance, which is short to say the least. Fernandez gets the vocals of Neeti Mohan to play up her part, and the singer does well. However, the composition itself feels too rehearsed. While it is well structured and has a natural rhythm, it lacks the special element that might take it to the next level.
Saaho is directed by Sujeeth, and is set to release on 30 August 2019.
