Box office: Mission Mangal nearly reaches Rs100 crore in four days, Batla House fares decently


The multi-starrer, directed by Jagan Shakti, is on its way to become a success.

The multi-starrer Mission Mangal (2019), featuring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu and others, has had an excellent first weekend. Directed by Jagan Shakti, the film has earned Rs96.50 crore at the box office in its opening weekend in India, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com. 

Mission Mangal had a remarkable opening of Rs28.50 crore on Thursday, 15 August, when it released. There was a slight drop in numbers on the next day as it was a working day. With the next two days being Saturday and Sunday, the film saw a good jump of Rs23.50 crore and Rs27.50 crore respectively. 

As per trade sources, Mission Mangal is made at a budget of around Rs100 crore. As the film has already reached that number, it is set to be a success story at the box office. 

On the same day, the John Abraham-starrer Batla House (2019) has generated decent numbers in its extended weekend. The film had a decent opening on Thursday as it made Rs14.50 crore. But the film faced a 50% drop the next day when it earned Rs7.50 crore. It did see a small jump on Saturday and Sunday where it made Rs9.50 crore and Rs12 crore respectively. 

As per our trade sources, Batla House is made at a budget between Rs60 crore. The film has so far made Rs43.50 crore.
