After the success of Gully Boy (2019), Vijay Varma is set to rejoin Zoya Akhtar for her upcoming short film in the Netflix anthology, Ghost Stories. The actor is reportedly being paired off with Janhvi Kapoor in the short film.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee, Ghost Stories is an anthology featuring four shorts from the directors. The last time the quartet combined was for the popular Netflix original, Lust Stories (2018). The filmmakers had earlier teamed up for Bombay Talkies (2013), a similar anthology of stories on film.

Vijay Varma is currently working on Mira Nair's BBC adaptation of Vikram Seth's A Suitable Boy. In addition, he will also be part of Hurdang (2019), alongside Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Kaushal, set to release later this year.

Kapoor, meanwhile, is reportedly working on the prep for her upcoming film, Kargil Girl, based on the life of Gunjan Saxena, the first female combat pilot during the Kargil war in 1997.

The anthology will mark the first time for Vijay Varma and Janhvi Kapoor in a horror short, as well as a genre debut for director Zoya Akhtar. The 30-minute short will be part of the two-hour long anthology by the four directors.

The shoot schedule has gone on the floors. Ghost Stories will be produced by RSVP Pictures and Tiger Baby productions.
