The teaser of Section 375 had given us a glimpse of what to expect from this intense court drama. The trailer builds on it by providing further information of the case.

Film director Rohan Khurana (Rahul Bhat) is accused of raping assistant costume designer Anjali Dangle (Meera Chopra). The defence lawyer (Akshaye Khanna) and the public prosecutor (Richa Chadha) engage in a heated debate in court.

In the past couple of years we are seeing a resurgence of Akshaye Khanna's acting career and Section 375 seems to be another step in that direction. It appears that he is playing the shrewd lawyer for whom winning the case matters more than even justice.

The trailer mentions that Richa Chadha's character used to work under Akshaye Khanna once upon a time, which makes us curious to see how the dynamics of their complicated relationship are explored in the film.

It seems from the trailer that the film is also trying to make a statement about the moral ambiguity of such cases and the media trial which precedes the judgment, resulting in ruining the life of an accused even if he is proved innocent afterwards.

The film is jointly produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and SCIPL.

Section 375 will be released on 13 September 2019. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film.
