Shilpa Shetty might is preparing to step into the arclights once again for Sabbir Khan's Nikamma. The actress, who was last seen in Dishkiyaoon (2014), will be part of the film alongside Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia.
In a quote to Indian Express.com, Shetty said, "It feels great. I am ready to take that plunge again and looking forward to be back on the big screen. It’s a refreshingly unique project and am looking forward to working with Sabbir."
The actress was last seen in a dance number for the Sunny Deol-starrer back in 2014, for which she was also co-producer. While she has been a regular presence on television in reality shows like Super Dancer and Nach Baliye, the actress has been missing from the big screen.
Shetty promised that the role will be something she 'hasn't done before.'
Speaking of the actress's return to films, Munna Michael (2017) director Sabbir Khan said, "Shilpa is a much-loved name in every household and she was very clear right at the onset that her comeback would have to be with a worthy role. It’s a dynamic part and I am glad to be working with Shilpa and bringing her back for the fans that miss her.”
Nikamma, produced by Sony Pictures and Sabbir Khan Films, will be the second feature for Abhimanyu Dassani.
The actor made his debut with Vasan Bala's Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (2019) earlier this year. Nikamma is expected to release in the summer of 2020.
