Actor Irrfan Khan is back in India and it has not taken him long to get back to work. Irrfan Khan has begun shooting in Udaipur for Angrezi Medium, sequel to director Saket Chaudhary’s Hindi Medium. The film will be shot in Udaipur and London.
“What better start to this Friday than starting something that you all have been waiting for," the official handle for Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films on Twitter stated.
Irrfan Khan and Deepak Dobriyal are back together in the sequel, but the buzz is that the film will have a new story. Radhika Madan is also reported to have joined the franchise. The actress is expected to play Pia, the daughter of Raj Batra (Irrfan Khan). Pia was a schoolgoing kid in Hindi Medium but is a grown-up now.
There is no word yet on who will play Mita Batra, the character portrayed by Pakistani actress Saba Qamar in the original. Rumour had it that Kareena Kapoor Khan was approached to play Mita. But it is not known whether director Homi Adajania will include the character in the sequel.
According to a source, “Kareena was approached, but there is no word coming in now. Perhaps she may appear as an altogether different character.”
Kapoor Khan recently wrapped up filming for Dharma Productions' Good News (2019) with Akshay Kumar.
Efforts to reach out to producer Dinesh Vijan and director Adajania yielded no response.
Khan was last seen in Karwaan (2018), which was completed before he left the country to get treatment abroad for his neuroendocrine tumour.
