First Look: Rani Mukerji dons the uniform again for Mardaani 2 

After earning plaudits for playing the teacher with Tourette's syndrome in last year's Hichki (2018), actress Rani Mukerji has returned to a tougher routine. The actress's first look from the sequel, Mardaani 2, captures her looking serious and all business. 

Wearing the khaki uniform, with a creased beret, the actress looks tough in her role as the cop, Shivani Shivaji Roy. The film is the sequel to the gritty 2014 drama, Mardaani, directed by Pradeep Sarkar. 

The sequel is being directed by Gopi Puthran, who was the screenwriter for the first film. The sequel will also be his directorial debut. 

Reports suggest that the film might also see Ahaan Pandey, Chunkey Pandey's son, make his debut as the antagonist opposite Mukerji. However, it has not been confirmed by the studio or the makers yet. 

The film is being produced by Aditya Chopra's banner, Yash Raj Films.
