On the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri last month, the title and first look poster of Ajith Kumar’s next Tamil release Nerkonda Paarvai was unveiled. It was recently confirmed that the film will hit the screens worldwide on 10 August. The latest update is that the principal shooting of the project has been wrapped up and the makers have already begun the post-production work.
Except for some patchwork, the entire talkie portion has been completed. Reliable sources have confirmed that everything is going as planned for the release in August.
The project will mark Boney Kapoor's foray into Tamil filmdom. Apparently, it was late Sridevi’s wish that Ajith does a film in her husband’s production.
“While working with Ajith in English Vinglish (2012) Sridevi had expressed her desire that Ajith does a Tamil film for our home production. Nothing exciting came up till one day last year; Ajith suggested remaking Pink (2016) in Tamil. She immediately agreed as she thought it was the most appropriate and timely film to make and Ajith would bring all the elements required to make it into a great Tamil film,” Kapoor said in a statement.
The film stars Vidya Balan, Shraddha Srinath, Andrea Tariang, Abhirami Venkatachalam, Adhik Ravichandran and Rangaraj Pandey in crucial roles.
Vidya, who is making her Tamil debut via this project, will be seen playing Ajith’s wife.
The film is being directed by H Vinoth and will feature music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by popular lensman Nirav Shah.
