Set in the year 1964, at the peak of Bharat's youth, the first song from the upcoming period film takes us through his colourful life in The Great Russian Circus as he enthrals the crowds as a stunt motorcyclist in the 'ring of death'.
Salman Khan aka Bharat romances the much, much younger Disha Patani who stars alongside the superstar as a trapeze artist, Radha.
The actor, who has clearly been de-aged for the song, sings about proposing marriage in the catchy number composed by Vishal-Shekhar. He even turns knife-thrower, with assistance from friend Sunil Grover, in the song.
Irshad Kamil's quirky lyrics have Khan telling Patani, "Aaja doob jaoon teri aankhon ke ocean mein, slow motion mein!"
The romantic duet, which looks very much like an 'item number' (a dance number that is included in a film, often without any connection to the main story), is sung by Nakash Aziz and Shreya Ghosal. A portion of the song's choreography by Vaibhavi Merchant reminds us of the famous Madhuri Dixit number, 'Humko Aaj Kal Hai Intezaar', from Sailaab (1990).
The vibe of the song is clearly entertaining and though the pairing of Khan and Patani is odd, the pair is spirited in their circus avatars.
Bharat, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, is due to be released on Eid, 5 June.
