The story of Ravi Jadhav’s upcoming film Rampaat is based in the Solapur region of Maharashtra. The film features Abhinay Berde and Kashmira Pardeshi in lead roles. They play Mithoon and Munni, respectively, who are eager to become film stars in Mumbai.
The latest song from the film ‘Ye Na Gavran Maina’ has a sharp Solapuri flavour. It’s an old-fashioned village dance number that one would usually hear at festival celebrations in the smaller cities and villages.
The production value and costumes are rich and vibrant. But the same cannot be said about the dance. The steps could have been more creative and energetic. Berde and Pardeshi are made to look much older than their respective ages, as the intention is to make them look like a grown-up village couple.
The track is such that the composers Chinar and Mahesh are required to use almost the same music throughout. Singers Bela Shende and Rohit Raut breathe life into the song with their energetic voices, with a tinge of naughtiness.
Berde has previously acted in Ti Sadhya Kay Karte (2018) and Ashi Hi Aashiqui (2019). Pardeshi has previously acted in the Telugu film @Naratanasala. Rampaat is her Marathi film debut.
The film is scheduled for release on 17 May.
