Rashmika Mandanna may team up with Akhil Akkineni next

Rashmika, who had previously worked with producer Bunny Vas in the runaway Telugu hit Geetha Govindam (2018), has already given her nod.

Rashmika Mandanna, who has been on a signing spree, may most likely team up with actor Akhil Akkineni next for a yet-untitled Telugu project, which will be directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar.

According to the industry grapevine, producer Bunny Vas has signed Rashmika for his next project with Akhil. An official announcement can be expected to be made in a few weeks.

Akhil, who’s going through a rough patch with back-to-back failures, has apparently pinned high hopes on this project, tipped to be a romantic-comedy.

Rashmika, who had previously worked with producer Vas in the runaway Telugu hit Geetha Govindam (2018), has already given her nod.

In a report by Cinema Express, a source was quoted as saying: "It's a strong female character that's more like a second skin to her portrayal in Geetha Govindam. Rashmika was pleased with the way Bhaskar has conceived the character with a great sense of fun and depth, and has agreed to be on board."

This film marks Bhaskar's return to direction after a hiatus of three years. The makers are currently busy finalising the rest of the cast and crew.

Meanwhile, Rashmika has also approached for two more Telugu star-studded projects. If the rumours are anything to go by, she has been approached for the next films of Allu Arjun and Mahesh Babu.

She currently awaits the release of Vijay Deverakonda's Dear Comrade (2019), in which she plays a cricketer. In preparation for the role, she underwent cricket lessons for close to a month.

Rashmika will this year make her Tamil debut with a film starring Karthi. The yet untitled project will be directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan.
