Emraan Hashmi is on a roll — after wrapping filming on his Netflix series, Bard of Blood, the actor signed a movie with Amitabh Bachchan. Now comes word that he will be seen in the Hindi remake of the hit Malayalam film Ezra (2017) starring Prithviraj and Priya Anand.
Jay Krishnan, who also directed the original, is taking up the remake which will be shot in Mumbai and Mauritius.
Prithviraj and Priya play a married couple in Kochi whose lives are changed when an antique box enters their household, containing the ghost of a Jewish man, Abraham Ezra.
Hashmi told Hindustan Times why he was drawn to the thriller with a supernatural twist. "With Ezra, we hope to push the boundaries further and give the audience an experience that they will never forget. I'm happy to be collaborating with Kumar ji [Mangat] and Abhishek on this film. And with Jay at the helm of things, all I can say is be prepared for one hell of a spooky ride," he said.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak, the Hindi remake doesn't have a release date as yet.
