Samantha to have an extended cameo in Nagarjuna’s Manmadhudu 2

Actress Samantha Akkineni, basking in the phenomenal success of Majili (2019), has opened up about a special project she recently signed. In a media interaction, she has confirmed signing a cameo role in her father-in-law’s upcoming project Manmadhudu 2.

Being directed by Rahul Ravindran, the film stars Akkineni Nagarjuna and Rakul Preet Singh, who have teamed up together for the first time.

“I play a very interesting extended cameo in Manmadhudu 2. At the moment, I can’t reveal anything about my character, but can vouch that it’s going to be an important one in the story. I can’t wait to start shooting,” Samantha said.

The team recently wrapped up the first schedule. The second schedule is on in Portugal where most of the film will be predominantly shot.

The film had its official launch last month in Hyderabad. The launch ceremony was attended by Nagarjuna’s wife Amala Akkineni and son Naga Chaitanya, who switched on the camera for the first shot.

A thrilled Rahul took to Twitter and wrote: “New beginnings. Send your wishes and blessings our way. All fun. All heart.”

This is Rahul’s second directorial project. He made his debut as a director last year with Telugu romantic drama Chi La Sow, which was bankrolled by Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studios.

Tipped to be a sequel, the film will be high on romance and comedy.

Last seen playing a gangster in Devadas, Nagarjuna also has a Tamil project with Dhanush in the offing.
