The trailer of Punit Malhotra’s Student Of The Year 2 was released amid much fanfare at a suburban multiplex in Mumbai today (12 April). The film will introduce actresses Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday who are paired opposite actor Tiger Shroff.

Shroff said he was happy to feature in Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions' project for the first time. “I am very grateful that I have got this opportunity to finally work with Dharma [Productions]. It’s my first film [with them]. And what better film than Student Of The Year [2] to start my collaboration with them,” he said.

Going by the trailer, the film is set in a typically vibrant world of Johar’s brand of cinema. It largely revolves around Shroff who is rusticated from Saint Teresa and how he makes a comeback. The first film had introduced Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra and few other characters competing against each other in a sporting event to earn the coveted title of 'Student Of The Year'.

Shroff was asked which sport or field he would like to compete with with the two male stars of the first movie. He said, “I would like to take on Varun in probably a dance competition and athletics. I think Sidharth would be good challenge for Kabaddi because he is tall and athletic,” said Shroff.

Student Of The Year 2 is scheduled for release on 10 May.
