Student Of The Year 2 trailer: Tiger Shroff is determined to be the best

College is back in session with the new trailer of Student Of The Year 2 out. The film is largely the story of Rohan, played by Tiger Shroff, who enters Saint Teresa college with aim of acquiring the Dignity cup at the end of the year. Along the way, he finds himself in the middle of a love triangle with Mia (Tara Sutaria) and Shreya (Ananya Panday).

The highly competitive Dignity cup seems to be made up of extremely fit student athletes. Of course, Shroff is at the top of the heap with his eight-pack abs and moves that could compete in the Olympics. His chief rival (Aditya Seal) is determined to see Rohan eliminated and eventually, Rohan comes up against a hurdle where he is expelled from Saint Teresa college.

But Rohan does not give up. He competes for the cup from another institution, the brilliantly named Pishorilal Chamandas college. The soft-spoken Shroff menacingly tells Seal, "The day might be yours, the year belongs to me."

The focus of the first trailer is more on Rohan and his journey and the two new actresses, Sutaria and Panday, don't have much to do except look perfectly made up while at college. Disappointingly, there isn't much for them to do besides be Rohan's love interests.

As this is the second film in the series, everything seems grander, especially the sets and action. Only the clothes have gotten skimpier, if possible.

The film is written by Arshad Syed and directed by Punit Malhotra. The first Student Of The Year (2012) was directed by Karan Johar and introduced Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra to Hindi cinema.

Student Of The Year 2, with music by Vishal-Shekhar, is due to be released on 10 May.
