In the eyes of love, the world is surreal. Lights turn into sparkles and the features of the beloved take the shapes of images from nature. As love blossoms, memories create their own journey, irrespective of time and space.
Dipangshu Acharya’s evocative words for the song 'Shobai Chup' from Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s upcoming film Konttho paint love with magical and surreal imagery that takes shape through Subhankar Bhar’s dream-like visuals.
Composed by Prasen, the soft number has been rendered by Sahana Bajpaie in her signature style. Prasen has not experimented with the tune much, allowing Acharya’s words and Bhar’s visuals to have the utmost effect.
'Shobai Chup' features protagonist Arjun, played by Mukherjee, and his beloved Pritha, essayed by Paoli Dam. Acharya's lyrics justify the mood of the song, as it features two people madly in love. They are not only shown rejoicing in their moments alone in the rain and in the lap of nature, but they can also be seen sharing their happiness in their professions and in the little joys of life.
Bhar’s camera captures the sequence of rain and the boats in the Ganga in such a poetic manner that it transfers the essence of the romance inherent in the song and the chemistry between Dam and Mukherjee into every particle of nature and the surrounding ambience.
Konttho is slated for release on 10 May. Watch the 'Shobai Chup' song below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film.
