After Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota (2019), Gulshan Devaiah will be seen as the main lead in the upcoming web-series titled Afsos, according to an official statement by the makers. The 12-part series will be directed by debutant Anubhuti Kashyap.
Afsos is touted to be a dramedy, and like in Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota, Devaiah will be seen exploring his comedy side in this film. “Post MKDNH, Gulshan will be seen channelising his comedy side in this series. The team has already begun shoot shooting for the series in Mumbai and is expected to release late this year [sic],” said the press release.
Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota saw Devaiah in a double role – the evil Jimmy and the physically challenged Karate master Mani. It was the character of Jimmy that got most of the comic lines in the film.
Anubhuti has worked as an associate director and assistant director with her brother, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in Dev D (2009) and Gangs Of Wasseypur (2012, respectively. She worked as the first assistant director and did additional cinematography in the USA film The Tiger Hunter (2016). She also acted in Anurag’s The Girl In Yellow Boots (2010). Their brother Abhinav Kashyap has directed two films so far – Dabangg (2010) and Besharam (2013).
