In August, Srijit Mukherji had announced his upcoming project Gumnami Baba, starring Prosenjit Chatterjee. Now, he has announced a thriller which might go on floors before Gumnami Baba.

Titled Vinci Da, the film will feature two unusual leading artistes other than the ones normally seen in Mukherji’s films. Ritwick Chakraborty and Sohini Sarkar, along with his two favourites Anirban Bhattacharya and Rudranil Ghosh will play the lead characters in Vinci Da.

This year, Mukherji’s Uma won both critical acclaim and commercial success in and outside the country. His upcoming films Ek Je Chhilo Raja will be released during Durga puja and Shah Jahan Regency will hit the screens in December.

“It is a thriller with a lot of violence, but I can’t reveal anything more now. This will be my third thriller after Baishe Srabon and Chotushkone, as the genre gives me a lot of scope to play with the script and making. The film will go on the floors after Durga puja,” Mukherji told The Times of India, a daily.

“I have seen Sohini to be maturing in the last two years after her last work with me in Rajkahini. I have been willing to work with her for long,” he said, while commenting on the cast of the film.

“I have chosen the actors according to the demand of the script. Ritwick, Rudranil and Anirban, all of them are amazing actors,” added the director.
