Six years after they worked together in Ishaqzaade (2012), actors Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra are back together in a love story. The pair are the leads of producer-director Vipul Amrutlal Shah's Namaste England which is set in Punjab and London.
The love story of Param and Jasmeet begins in Punjab where the two continue to meet thanks to a scheming, good friend. Eventually, they make it official and it looks like there are no conflicts but only happy endings for this couple.
But after a year-and-a-half of marriage, Jasmeet begins to feel stifled. She believes she has no freedom to pursue anything, unlike her husband. Param can't relate to her wanting to be independent and she sets off to London, alienating almost everyone in her family.
That's when Param decides to follow her, using even illegal methods, to get back his wife. The question is, will Jasmeet want to come back with Param? He certainly is confident in the power of his love for her.
The trailer is balanced with both emotional and comic moments and it's certainly nice to see the two likeable leads together again. Chopra's character wanting to go and make a life for herself beyond marriage looks to be an interesting arc. And Kapoor, as the supportive husband, also impresses.
Namaste England has been written by Suresh Nair and Ritesh Shah. The film's music has been composed by Mannan Shah, while Javed Akhtar has written the lyrics.
The love story is due to be released on 19 October.
