Generally, the earnings of a film begin to dwindle at the box office as the week progresses. However, Amar Kaushik's Stree is one of those rare films that is still doing well in the middle of the week.

As per numbers shared by Boxofficeindia.com, the film made Rs6.50 crore on Wednesday (5 September), Rs25 lakh more than its earnings on Tuesday (Rs6.25 crore). The film, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, had made a decent Rs9.50 crore on Monday, a holiday for Janmashtami.

Stree is made at an estimated budget of Rs25 crore and the film’s grand total now stands at Rs53.65 crore. It crossed the Rs50 crore mark in just six days.

The film has become the highest grosser for Rajkummar so far. The actor's Kai Po Che! (2013) had made Rs43.58 crore, while Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017) earned Rs34.02 crore at the domestic box office.

On the other hand, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se, that released with Stree, continued its poor run on Wednesday too. The film, starring Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby Deol, made only Rs65 lakh on 5 September.

With only Rs8.75 crore in its kitty so far, the third film in the franchise, has no chance of reaching its estimated cost of production — Rs30 crore.
