Jacqueline Fernandez joins Kartik Aaryan for Kirik Party Hindi remake

The makers of Kirik Party have signed actress Jacqueline Fernandez as the female lead opposite Kartik Aaryan. Fernandez will share the big screen with Aaryan for the first time. 

Producer Ajay Kapoor, managing director of Kyta Productions, had announced the film in July this year. The film will be a remake of the 2016 Kannada romantic-comedy of the same name. According to reports, actor Sidharth Malhotra was first approached for the film, but  Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) star Kartik Aaryan has been finalized to play the lead.

Trade analyst Komal Nahta tweeted about the deveplopment. “The beautiful @Asli_Jacqueline joins the cast of #KirikParty opposite @TheAaryanKartik! The filming will begin in October!,” he wrote. 

The original film was directed by Rishab Shetty, while the Hindi remake will be helmed by Abhishek Jain who has previously directed popular Gujarati films like Kevi Rite Jaish (2012) and Bey Yaar (2014). Jain had produced Wrong Side Raju (2016), that won the National Award for the Best Feature Film in Gujarati. Jain has also worked as an assistant director on Hindi films like Saawariya (2007), Yuvvraaj (2008), and Guzaarish (2010).
