Nimrat Kaur dismisses rumours of affair with Ravi Shastri as 'fiction'

Actress Nimrat Kaur has taken to Twitter to dismiss rumours of an affair with former cricketer and current coach of the Indian cricket team Ravi Shastri.

“Fact: I may need a root canal. Fiction: Everything else I read about me today. More facts: Fiction can be more hurtful, monday blues exist and I love ice cream. Here’s to trash free happy days ahead,” tweeted Kaur.

The Indian cricket team lost the fourth Test in Southampton, as England took an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series. Pressure has piled on Shastri and the last thing he would want is gossip about his personal life. Tabloid Mumbai Mirror carried a news item that Shastri had been dating The Lunchbox (2013) actress for the past two years.

The speculation arises from the fact the duo were roped in by a German luxury carmaker to launch their vehicle in 2015.

The news of the alleged affair comes as a surprise as, barring the odd appearance together at promotional events, the duo is seldom spotted together. In 2012, there were reports of Shastri filing for divroce from his wife Ritu after 22 years of marriage. The former India captain, though, has never gone public about his personal life.

During his hey days, Shastri mingled with models and actresses. He was once romantically linked to actress Amrita Singh.

As for Kaur, she has always kept personal life private. In an interview with Cinestaan.com last year, the Airlift (2016) actress had claimed that she was not dating anyone, and even if she did she wouldn’t talk about her personal life.
