Amazon India’s web-series Inside Edge: Game Behind The Game has been nominated in the Drama Category of the 46th International Emmy Awards. The series was directed by Karan Anshuman and produced under Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment.
Inside Edge would be competing against Urban Myths (UK), One Against All (Brazil) and Money Heist (Spain).
The series starred Vivek Oberoi, Richa Chadha, Angad Bedi, Sanjay Suri, Sarah Jane Dias, Tanuj Virwani and Sayani Gupta. The story revolved around the corruption and scandals in Mumbai Mavericks, one of the teams of an expensive cricket league called Powerhouse League.
Inside Edge premiered last year and its second season, which was announced earlier this year, will be out in 2019.
Before this Anshuman had directed a feature film titled Bangistan (2015), which starred Riteish Deshmukh, Pulkit Samrat and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film was also produced by Excel Entertainment.
The International Emmy Awards, that honours television content produced and aired outside the United States, was established in 1973 by the International Academy of Television Arts and Science. The awards ceremony will be held on 19 November in New York.
