Singer Bela Shende has been on a roll, lending her voice to six films that released this year. She has now sung a romantic track, ‘O Saathi Re’, for Sameer Ramesh Surve’s Shubh Lagna Savdhan, which stars Subodh Bhave and Shruti Marathe.
Though not an extraordinary song, it is good enough to quench your thirst for a soothing, romantic number. The singer has provided a good display of her talent, and is ably supported by composer duo Chinar and Mahesh’s soft tunes. The same simplicity is seen in Mandar Cholkar’s lyrics too.
Shubh Lagna Savdhan is based on a destination wedding in Dubai where Bhave and Marathe’s characters fall in love. Going by the video, the song depicts what happens after the wedding is over. Bhave's character misses the time he spent with Marathe's leading lady and, perhaps, regrets breaking off with her.
This is Surve’s second film as a director. His first film, Shree Partner, released six years ago in 2012. Starring Padmanabh Bind and Shweta Pagar, the film was an adaptation of celebrated author late VP Kale’s book Partner.
Shubh Lagna Savdhan will be released on 12 October.
