Leena Yadav's Rajma Chawal starring Rishi Kapoor to be released on Netflix


The family-drama will stream on the online platform on 30 November.

After its world premiere at the 62nd BFI London Film Festival on 13 October, filmmaker Leena Yadav's Rajma Chawal, starring Rishi Kapoor, Anirudh Tanwar and Amyra Dastur, will be released directly on Netflix on 30 November.

The trade magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, first reported the news online.

The film, whose title was picked by Kapoor, is about the conflicted relationship about a father (Kapoor) and his son (Tanwar). To open a channel of communication, the widower poses as a young women on a social networking platform. A problem arises when his son meets the young woman (Dastur) he's been impersonating in real life.

The feature film was earlier due to have a theatrical release on 31 August. However, it was delayed and later its world premiere at the London Film Festival was announced.

Produced by Yadav, Aseem Bajaj, and Gulab Singh Tanwar, Rajma Chawal is the fourth feature film for the writer-director after Shabd (2005), Teen Patti (2010), and Parched (2016).
