Actress Patralekhaa has put to rest rumours of being cast in director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s Panga stating that she was never approached for the film. Kangana Ranaut is part of the film.

“While I respect @ashwinyiyer ma’am and look forward to working with her soon...I wasn't approached for Panga!,” Patralekhaa clarified.

Even before the film goes on the floors, Panga has found itself surrounded by controversies. First, there were murmurs of director Tiwari wanting a 'no interference clause' in her contract with the producers, Fox Star Studios. A reliable source had denied this earlier.

Citylights (2014) actress Patralekhaa was linked with the project too.

The tabloid Mid-day carried a report of how the actress had opted out the film after her boyfriend actor Rajkummar Rao warned her that Ranaut would hog all the limelight in the film.

The Mid-day report suggested that Patralekhaa’s decision was influenced by Rajkummar.

The Stree (2018) actor wasn’t amused and took to Twitter to call out the report.

“Come on guys, didn’t expect dis from u. Just because u can put a question mark, in the end, doesn’t mean u can write anything. Please do your basic research before putting out such FAKE stories. We both have immense respect for Kangana. Ok am done, ab hum jakar shoot karte hain,” Rajkummar tweeted.

The rumours were put to rest once and for all, after Patralekhaa herself stated that she was never approached for this film.

Ranaut will play a kabaddi player in Panga. The actress is expected to begin shooting for Panga once she wraps up Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
