The lead actor and singer Aakanksha Sharma harmonize well in this charming duet composed by Amit Trivedi.

Like the film’s trailer, the songs of Andhadhun are an intriguing part of the entire puzzle. The title track and ‘Naina Da Kya Kasoor’ feature different facets of Ayushmann Khurrana’s character. In this latest song, a reprise of the number ‘Aap Se Milkar’, the actor himself takes up the vocal duties along with Aakanksha Sharma in this pleasing duet.

The song lyrics, by Jaideep Sahni, highlight the entry of Radhika Apte’s character in Khurrana’s life and the change it brings about. Khurrana’s character, who usually hangs out by himself, finds a companion to spend time with.

Of course, the first time they meet is through an accident. Apte is on a scooter when she almost runs over Khurrana who is crossing the road. She also invites him into the restaurant Franco’s where Khurrana plays the piano in front of the restaurant patrons. Apte literally transforms his existence into a more social one.

Khurrana has previously sung in films like Vicky Donor (2012), Bewakoofiyaan (2014) and Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017) so it’s no surprise here that he pops up on the ‘Aap Se Milkar’ (Reprise). At first listen, it almost sounds like a vintage Shaan number.

Amit Trivedi keeps his score light and breezy in an unhurried pace. The tone of the whole song feels like a big bright smile, which is probably the state of the two characters after their first meeting.

Andhadhun, directed by Sriram Raghavan, is due to be released on 5 October.
