Love at first is set to become passe. Going ahead, it could be love at first sound. In a first-of-its-kind, Amazon Prime is set to launch a new dating reality TV show Hear Me. Love Me. — a virtual blind dating show that challenges the concept of ‘love at first sight’.

Produced by Fremantle, India, Hear Me. Love Me. will be a 10-episode series. It is set to be launched on 28 September on digital platform Amazon Prime Video.

Actress Shilpa Shetty will play mentor, relationship guide and confidante to any woman seeking to find a man.

The innovative format will see one girl on three virtual dates where she will not get to see the faces of the men, but just what they do. Girls and boys between the age of 21-32 are eligible to participate in the show.

The bachelors will wear a mini camera on their chest sharing their lives, but never revealing their faces, thereby eliminating looks as a deciding factor.

Speaking about the show, Shetty said, “Hear Me. Love Me. is a fun new take on blind dating and it’s quite exciting to see the younger generation’s take on romance and relationships. It is edgy and bold, and I’ve tried my best to provide the contestants with the most honest advice possible. Some of the attitudes of this generation, that I discovered during the show, were truly surprising to me. I was amazed by how practical they are and how clear they can be on what they want or don’t want!”

Aradhana Bhola, MD of Fremantle, India said, "Hear Me. Love Me. is the ultimate new age fun experiment in figuring whether looks are everything when it comes to dating. A roller coaster ride filled with romance, adventure, humour and surprises, the show is a real window into the mindset and emotions of the youth today. Time to unleash irresistible entertainment!”

The Indian entertainment space has seen dating shows and swayamvars,  but a virtual blind dating show presents an altogether new and virtual experience.

Shetty has earlier produced an online quiz show. Before entering the digital space, Shetty has hosted Bigg Boss season 2, and been a judge on numerous dance reality TV shows.
