The trailer of Baba Yadav’s upcoming thriller Villain is out. A remake of Telugu film Gentleman (2016), Villain stars Ankush Hazra, Mimi Chakraborty and Rittika Sen.
While the rugged looks of Chakraborty and Hazra on the poster suggested the film to be an action flick, the trailer offers more glimpses to the twists in it. The trailer begins with Chakraborty and Sen’s characters, who happen to be fellow passengers on a flight, chatting on random topics. Sen asks Chakraborty to narrate her love story. While the latter says that her love story is straight out of a film; in the visuals, the couple (Chakraborty and Hazra) are seen to be romancing together.
The trailer surprises as we get to see Sen to be spending romantic moments with Hazra as well. However, as Sen expresses that Chakraborty’s fairy tale is too idealistic to be true, in the visuals, we see Hazra getting into intense action sequences.
The twist occurs when Sen finally introduces her fiancé Joy (Hazra) to Chakraborty at the airport and the latter gets the shock of her life. She tries to convince the others about the uncanny similarity between the two people and unearth the mystery behind it. On the other hand, it appears that both Hazra and Sen are part of a bigger scheme of revenge, in which Chakraborty has been dragged.
The answers to all the mystery lie in the circumstances that led the protagonist to live double avatars in his real life. Does he love Chakraborty for real or is everything part of a bigger scheme?
The trailer definitely promises a lot for a film loaded with action, crimes and romance; however, it also suggests that the film is not performance oriented.
Villain will be released on 12 October.
