Debutant director Vinod Kapri’s Pihu will be out in theatres on 28 September. The makers have released a poster of the film.

Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP and Siddharth Roy Kapur’s Roy Kapur Films have joined hands for Pihu. The film was appreciated last year at the IFFI (International Film Festival of India).

The film revolves around a toddler Pihu, played by Myra Vishwakarma. It speaks about the breakdown in a relationship between adults, which eventually affects a child the most.

Interestingly, Myra was not even two years old when the film was shot.  The film has no adult actors.

During an exclusive conversation with Cinestaan.com during last year’s IFFI, Kapri spoke about his first meeting with Myra. “When I met the girl Pihu for the first time, she was only a year and nine months old, but I realized that she was the girl I was looking for as she was talkative and very active,” he said.

The director reworked the screenplay after observing Myra. “I rewrote the entire screenplay as per her behaviour and if you notice, every scene was written according to what she did naturally,” he added.

While discussing the interesting manner of shooting the film, Kapri said, “This was our homework and many a times she didn’t even realise that she was being filmed, she was going about what she would do naturally. But we deliberately put her in certain situations for the film and filmed her with three cameras.”
