Jalebi song: Arijit Singh out with another love anthem with ‘Pal’

Singer Shreya Ghoshal joins in and enhances the song further in the second half.

Over the years singer Arijit Singh has become Hindi cinema’s go-to singer when it comes to romantic tracks. He proves his mettle yet again with ‘Pal’, the latest song from first-time director Pushpdeep Bhardwaj’s Jalebi. It is another love anthem from the young singer. Singer Shreya Ghoshal joins in and enhances the song in the second half.

Prashant Ingole and Kunaal Vermaa’s lyrics are tailor made for Singh's singing capabilities. During an exclusive interview with us, veteran lyricist Sameer Anjaan had said that while writing the lyrics of the title song of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), he was told not to write something that directly expresses love. 'Pal' is also a romantic number that does not directly express love but defines it.

Composer duo Javed-Mohsin have stuck to the basic, using simple tunes. The song shows simple, everyday visuals of Delhi, which makes it appealing. The visuals of foreign locations, used in between, weren’t needed and don’t gel well with old Delhi.

Artistes Varun Mitra and Rhea Chakraborty look good together and could represent any set of lovers from the city.

Produced by Vishesh Films, Jalebi will be released on 12 October.
