Saroj Khan to choreograph song for Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika

The song will be shot from 18 September at Nitin Desai's ND Studios in Karjat.

Actress Kangana Ranaut is now leaving no stone unturned to make her period film, Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi (2019), a grand affair. The actress is expected to wrap up the film's shoot soon as it is scheduled to be released on 25 January, during the Republic Day weekend.

Ranaut has now roped in veteran choreographer Saroj Khan to work on a song from the film that will feature Ranaut as Laxmibai and her onscreen husband Jisshu Sengupta. This will be a maiden collaboration between Ranaut and Khan.

The choreographer has been rehearsing with the artistes for weeks and the song will be shot from 18 September at Nitin Desai's ND Studios in Karjat. Reportedly, there are plans to add another song featuring actress Ankita Lokhande, who plays the character of Jhalkaribai in the film. The song will have her character celebrate the arrival of Rani Laxmibai.

Ranaut is currently shooting the film's climax scenes with Hollywood action director Nick Powell, who has earlier choreographed stunts in the popular action film The Bourne Identity (2002).

Manikarnika is penned by Vijayendra Prasad, who has also written the Baahubali films. While the film is helmed by Krish, Ranaut has reportedly directed a few sequences.
