The actress and the filmmaker have been having a running battle on the microblogging site, the latest being on the issue of Naxalism.

Actress Swara Bhasker has had run-ins with filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri before, but never had their arguments turned ugly. This time, however, Swara Bhasker reported an allegedly abusive tweet to Twitter, following which the microblogging site supposedly deleted the controversial tweet.

Swara Bhasker thanked Twitter for acting on her complaint: "Thank you Twitter India and Twitter Support for taking cognisance of Vivek Agnihotri ‘s abusive tweet and making him delete it."

Agnihotri and Swara Bhasker were involved in a heated exchange on the subject of Naxalism.

The actress had tweeted: “Vivek. Just want to point out that you are using the trauma of women who are rape survivors to slut-shame and abuse in public a woman you don’t like. In the rare moments of sanity that may visit your brain — otherwise unhinged with hate — think about how low that is.”

The tweet contained a link that cannot be opened now, perhaps the allegedly abusive reply from Agnihotri.

We then came across this tweet from Agnihotri asking the actress to stop the melodrama.

“Swara. Stop this fake melodrama. What was your gang thinking when you were running #MeTooUrbanNaxals to support those who have been raping not just young girls but the entire country for the last 50 years?," he wrote.

It is not clear which particular tweet was reported to Twitter by Swara Bhasker. The only thing that can be said with any degree of certainty at this point of time is that we haven't heard the last in the war of words between the two.
