The makers of Mitron are leaving no stone unturned to show the Gujarati-ness of their film through the trailer and the songs. ‘Kamariya,’ the latest song from the film, just reiterate the notion.
The song is adapted from the Garba number, ‘Pethalpur Ma'. The word ‘bhammariya’ in the original is replaced with ‘kamariya'. Therefore, the new song is one of the many remakes of old songs with a fresh twist.
'Kamariya' is a garba number with the typical traditional dandiya beats. But as it is a track for today’s youth, composers Lijo George and DJ Chetas have also woven disco tunes and beats. They have succeeded in the fusion. The song turns out to be a foot-tapping number. Singer Darshan Raval has done a decent job.
But the fusion of Hindi with Gujarati lyrics, by Kumaar, appears forced. The result is that there is not much meaning to the overall lyrics.
Jackky Bhagnani and Kritika Kamra look good together and have managed the dance steps well.
It seems a lot is spent in the production, as far as set design is concerned, that has enhanced the song’s visual appeal.
Mitron is all set to be released on 14 September.
