The catchy, quirky number by Amit Trivedi places the leads at an impasse in the film.
Manmarziyaan song: Vicky Kaushal tries to get Taapsee Pannu's attention in 'DhayaanChand'

You've never seen a song like this in an Anurag Kashyap film before. As actress Taapsee Pannu walks home after hockey practice in the song's beginning, dancers (and twin sisters) Poonam and Priyanka Shah get down in the background.
Later, it's the turn of actor Vicky Kaushal to join Pannu on her way home to make up for not meeting her family for her hand in marriage. But the angry Rumi (Pannu's character) is in no mood to listen to Vicky's pleas.
The song, composed by Amit Trivedi, catches on quickly, mainly due to lyricist Shellee's hook-lines, 'Dhyaan kithe, Dhyaan Chand [Where's your attention, Dhyaan Chand]' referring to the former Indian hockey legend. The Punjabi beats of Trivedi's composition bring the flavour to 'DhayaanChand', making it a welcome listen.
The song's credits list singers Vijay Yamla, Nikhita Gandhi, Amit Trivedi and Suhas Sawant, but it seems in this video song that Yamla's vocals are most prominent.
Interestingly, at one point, mostly everyone the couple pass on the street are sporting cool sunglasses as they watch Rumi ignore Vicky.
Manmarziyaan, also starring Abhishek Bachchan, is due to be released on 14 September.
