Bali suffered head injuries after his car ran over a divider in the wee hours of Tuesday.

Singer Nitin Bali, best known for his cover versions of classic Hindi film songs, died of injuries suffered in a road accident in Mumbai early today. He was 47.
A source said Bali met with an accident early on Tuesday as he was driving back to Malad from Borivali in northwestern Mumbai.
Bali's car ran over the divider and the singer suffered grievous head injuries. He was believed to have been driving under the influence.
Bali was taken to Zainab hospital at Charkop where his head and facial wounds were treated and stitched up. Thereafter, the singer returned home. But soon after he came home he began vomiting blood, his blood pressure dropped and his heart rate began fluctuating. He collapsed and was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead.
Bali’s funeral is slated for tomorrow. He is survived by wife Roma. The singer was earlier married to VJ Ruby Bhatia.
