Box office: Sui Dhaaga makes Rs62 crore, Pataakha earns Rs6.95 crore in first week

Sharat Katariya's Sui Dhaaga: Made in India enjoyed a decent first week bagging a decent Rs62 crore nett, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com. After making an impressive Rs36.50 crore nett in its opening weekend, the earnings of the film, starring Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma, slowed down over the week. It enjoyed a good run on Tuesday (2 October), a public holiday, with Rs11.50 crore nett.

Made at an estimated budget of Rs50 crore, Sui Dhaaga released in 2,500 screens across India.  

Vishal Bhardwaj’s Pataakha, that released on the same day (28 September) as Sui Dhaaga, earned Rs6.95 crore nett in its first week. The film was made at a budget of Rs20 crore and released in 875 screens across the country.

Meanwhile, holdover release Stree continued to draw impressive numbers. The horror comedy, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, made Rs4.75 crore nett its fifth week. The film has made a total of Rs123.52 crore nett in its India business so far.
