The song is a pacier version of the original Diljit Dosanjh-Badshah collaboration from 2013.
'Proper Patola' song: Badshah rules with this EDM version for Arjun Kapoor-Parineeti Chopra's swag

While rap and EDM (Electronic Dance Music) have become a mainstay of several music directors across the Hindi film industry, few manage to bring as much swag to it as Badshah. The rapper-composer proves his mettle with this pumped up version of the single of the same name, 'Proper Patola', with Diljit Dosanjh. The song from Namaste England is worth adding to any playlist.
The song is a promotional dance number and has all the smoky haziness of a proper club song. Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra bring the perfect mix of fun, attitude and chemistry to make the visuals match up to the music. Yet, it is Badshah's composition and rap that truly sets the tempo.
The song is an upgraded version of the single by Badshah and Dosanjh back in 2013. The Namastey England version also features Dosanjh on the vocals, alongside Aastha Gill. Both singers are quite good in their control of the verses and bring an attitude to the composition. Dosanjh and Gill play well off each other, adding to the atmosphere of the song.
The rap by Badshah is quite adept, precise and sticks to the theme without turning it into a vulgarity. The rapper doesn't miss a beat, despite the pace and lyrics being a little different. While they are playful, mischeivous and flirty, the rap never turns to the now cliched metaphors and imagery. That is where Badshah stands out.
The composition itself is quite peppy, and rhythmic with a steady hypnotic beat keeping you engrossed. The version might lack the musical languour of Dosanjh's original, but has its own charm.
Namaste England is directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and is set to be released on 19 October.
