Sara Ali Khan’s maiden film will be Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath. Mired in controversies and many delays later, Kedarnath, which was earlier slated to be released on 30 November, will now hit the theatre screens on 7 December. The film will be out a week after 2.0, the big-ticket Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer, which will be released on 30 November.

Lead actor Sushant Singh Rajput made the announcement on Twitter.

No tragedy, no wrath of nature, no act of God can defeat the power of love! Presenting the official #KedarnathPoster, teaser out at 12 noon!,” tweeted Rajput.

The film is directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP.

In the new poster we see Rajput as a pithoo. Pithoos are men who work at religious sites on mountain tops, carrying pilgrims on wooden carriages tied to their backs. He plays the role of Mansoor, while Khan's character is called Mukku.

The love story is set against the backdrop of the flash floods in Kedarnath in 2013. ‘Love is a pilgrimage’ is the tagline of Kedarnath. Now, while the makers are calling this the first official poster, it be recalled that early this year, Kapoor had unveiled another poster. It had photos of the temple, mountains and a pithoo. In the new poster Rajput is seen carrying Khan on his back with mountains in the backdrop.

While Kedarnath faces a challenge from the preceding week’s release 2.0, Kapoor and Screwvala will enjoy a solo release on 7 December.  Khan will have two films this December — Kedarnath, and Rohit Shetty’s Simmba which will be released on 28 December.
