Sukhwinder Singh denies being in a relationship with Jasleen Matharu

Singer Sukhwinder Singh has denied being in a relationship with Jasleen Matharu, who is currently in television reality show Bigg Boss 12.

In September, Matharu hogged the limelight for being in a relationship with 65-year-old bhajan singer Anup Jalota. She is now being linked with singer Singh after photos of them went viral on social media.

The speculation of a relationship came through Bigg Boss 12 itself. As part of a task [Poll Kohl], some secrets were revealed in the form a riddle, keeping the other inmates guessing about who it pertained to.

Karanvir Bohra read out the question: “I was in a relationship with a famous celebrity for a year. My current partner didn’t know anything about this.”

The moment the question was being asked, the camera panned to Matharu. Fellow contestant Shiv Ashish began guessing and suggested that it could be Matharu. Bigg Boss then said that the answer was correct.

Jalota didn’t seem surprised, and the duo later had a casual chat about it on the show. Jalota clarified that he wasn’t cheated on by Matharu, saying that the music world was a small space.

The name of the person with whom Matharu allegedly had an affair wasn’t disclosed. However, since yesterday pictures of Singh and Matharu have gone viral. One of the pictures has Singh kissing Matharu.

The singer has been asked whether he was the celebrity in a year-long relationship with Matharu. The 'Chaiyya Chaiyya' singer, denied it.

Speaking to Bombay Times, Singh said, “We have been good friends for the last six years. Jasleen calls me Bablu. She accompanies me for my shows and her family is also close to me. In fact, her mom, dad and friends came over to my house a day before she left for Bigg Boss. She cut a cake and we had a great time. We often catch up for movies and outings along with her friends, but we have never dated each other. I’m surprised that this was claimed on the show. I’ll call up her father and check what this is all about."
