The teaser of debutant director Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti’s Marathi movie Naal focusses on a beautiful village in which the story is set. The trailer of the film gives the impression of the film being a feel-good affair.

The film is about eight-year-old Chaitanya aka Chaitya. He lives a poor lifestyle with his parents (Nagraj Popatrao Manjule and Devika Daftardar) in the interiors of Maharashtra. He is a happy-go-lucky bloke, mischievous like most children of his age. One day, he comes in contact with a youngster (Om Bhutkar) and leaves home. His parents, obviously, are worried.

For nature lovers, the trailer proves to be a delight. The visuals of the village and the river work wonders for the film's simple appeal. It appears to be a finely crafted film in terms of the cinematography and background score.

Manjule and Daftardar suit well in their roles as husband and wife. The last time Manjule acted in a film he didn’t direct was in Gajendra Ahire’s The Silence (2017). He has also written the dialogues here. The boy who plays Chaitya comes across as a promising actor.

Naal will be released on 16 November.
