Director Amit Ravindernath Sharma’s Badhaai Ho has passed the Monday test with flying colours. The film, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta, earned Rs5.50 crore yesterday, as per figures shared by Boxofficeindia.com.
The film didn’t see much of a drop from its Friday collection of Rs7.25 crore. It had an impressive first extended weekend where it earned Rs45.25 crore. The positive reviews and word-of-mouth seem to have worked wonders for Badhaai Ho.

As per trade sources, the film is made at an estimated budget of Rs30 crore. As its grand total currently stands at Rs50.75 crore, it can easily be called a success. Whether or not the film will cross the Rs100-crore mark will depend on how it performs on its second weekend. There isn’t much of a challenge for it till the much-awaited Thugs Of Hindostan sails into theatres on 8 November.
On the other hand, Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s Namaste England crashed yesterday by earning as less as Rs50 lakh. The film, starring Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra, had managed a poor Rs6.10 crore in its extended weekend. The film's cost of production is around Rs55 crore.
Meanwhile, Sriram Raghavan’s Andhadhun made less than Rs1 crore for the first time yesterday on its third Monday when it earned Rs90 lakh. However, the Khurrana-starrer has already earned a handsome Rs57.42 crore so far.
