Mahesh Waman Manjrekar’s recently released Me Shivaji Park spoke about the degradation of Gandhian values in today’s times. Now, Pravin Vitthal Tarade’s Mulshi Pattern explores how the teachings of Gandhi have been misconstrued in a development-crazed era. Interestingly, Tarade acted in Me Shivaji Park, while Manjrekar does the same in Mulshi Pattern.

The teaser of the film reveals that the film deals with how development is slowly wiping out the natural and social fabric of our country. It asks if we have misunderstood Gandhi’s call to move towards the villages.

But Mulshi Pattern isn’t a social drama on the aforementioned topic. It goes further to explore how the hunger to grab more is turning individuals into criminals.

Mulshi is a taluka in the Maval subdivision of Pune. The title Mulshi Pattern describes the series of murders that take place in a similar pattern in Mulshi — a group of people literally chopping a person with swords.

The teaser is smartly edited and the narration gets you involved in the film. It makes you look forward to it.

Tarade is also starring in the film, along with Mohan Joshi, Upendra Limaye, Om Bhutkar, Malvika Gaikwad and Savita Malpekar.

Mulshi Pattern will be released on 23 November.
