Ekkees Tareekh trailer: Sanjai Mishra plays beleaguered father of the bride in comedy drama

Mishra has taken on some interesting roles in the recent past, but the trailer for Ekkees Tareekh: Shubh Muhurat does not inspire the same confidence.

The last few months have seen the rise of content-driven films, and Sanjai Mishra's next seems to be an interesting one built around a father looking to get his daughter married.

Mishra has taken on some interesting roles in the recent past, but the trailer for Ekkees Tareekh: Shubh Muhurat does not inspire the same confidence.

The trailer begins with the sight of a poor brahmin (Mishra) trying to fix a date for his daughter's wedding. The only hurdle is the dowry he needs to pay. With few people paying to hold 'katha' (divine storytelling) sessions, he is stuck. But then, they hit on the quirky idea of getting his son married for a price, and using that money to pay off his daughter's dowry.

This leads them down the road of convoluting conundrum and moral dilemmas. The trailer has Mishra playing, once again, a quirky misfit who is also morally correct. However, the trailer is a mix of comedy and drama, and seems a bit confusing. He is ably supported by Brijendra Kala.

Directed by Pavan Kumar Chauhan, the film has been produced by Rajesh Kumar Jodhani and Mukesh Kumar Jodhani. It will be released on 2 November.
