Family members of actor Arjun Sarja have dismissed the allegations of sexual harrassment levelled against him by actress Sruthi Hariharan and have also threatened to file a defamation case against the actress.
Talking to reporters in Chennai, Arjun's wife Asha Rani and daughter Aishwarya Arjun said, "Arjun is someone who respects women immensely. Sruthi Hariharan has a lot to learn from him. The allegations that she has levelled against Arjun are all false. We know what kind of a person she is. The south Indian film industry knows about her. She must have exposed this when the incident in question happened itself."
Questioning the actress' claims, the family further said, "If at all she had been sexually harrassed as claimed by her, how is it that she was so friendly to us and spoke to us so well at the premiere of the film, Nibunan (2017)? She [Sruthi] told me, 'I am a big fan of your father.' Why did she have to say that?," Aishwarya asked.
"There is somebody behind Sruthi Hariharan. It will be soon out in the open as to who is behind her. #MeToo is not a movement. It is misdirected. We have a lot of information about Sruthi Hariharan," they added.
The family members also claim that Hariharan is making the allegations to extract money. "She is trying to extract money from us by levelling such allegations. We will not let this pass. We will file a defamation suit against her. There has not been an allegation against Arjun so far. These allegations have only made us mentally more stronger," Asha stated.
