Abhishek Bachchan celebrates Dussehra by starting his next film with Anurag Basu

The director reportedly began working on the sequel of Life...In A Metro (2007).

After the success of Manmarziyaan (2018), Abhishek Bachchan has now begun work on the next film on his schedule. The actor posted a picture of director Anurag Basu, on the sets in Mumbai, citing it as the beginning of a 'new journey'.

Basu had last directed Jagga Jasoos (2017). The film marked the debut of Ranbir Kapoor as a producer. But its failure at the box office led to a split between the actor and director Basu, following which Ranbir's father Rishi Kapoor called him "an irresponsible director".

The film with Basu is reportedly a sequel to the cult hit, Life...In A Metro (2007), which won 3 three including Best Screenplay for the director. The sequel also reportedly features Kareena Kapoor Khan, as part of an ensemble cast.

In addition to Basu's film, Bachchan will also begin work on Gulab Jamun, opposite wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and is also set to make an appearance in Housefull 4 later this year.

Bachchan is currently riding high on the success of his recent Manmarziyaan. The film, directed by Anurag Kashyap, marked Bachchan's return to the big screen after a gap of two years.
