Acclaimed Hindi film actor Kay Kay Menon is making his Marathi film debut with director Lokesh Vijay Gupte’s Ek Sangaychay: Unsaid Harmony. Even though his mother tongue isn’t Marathi, the actor’s grasp over the language in the film is quite impressive.
The film is about the lack of communication between parents and children. Malhar (Menon) and his wife (Rajeshwari Sachdev) are having a hard time due to the carefree life of their college going kids. Malhar, perhaps a police officer, is a short-tempered man who believes in putting restriction on his kids. His wife, however, is a much calmer person. There is also a parallel story of another father (Milind Pathak) who is also having a hard time with his son.
The trailer of Ek Sangaychay establishes the subject early on. But the main plot of the film is not revealed. Although it is good to not disclose most of the storyline, at least, some idea should have been given. Some portions, that appear in flashes, hint that the film has a crime angle as well.
Ek Sangaychay is Gupte’s directorial debut. He has previously worked as an actor in films like Uladhaal (2008), Dambis (2011) and the Hindi movie Akira (2016).
The release date of the film has not been announced yet.
