Last year, director Vishal Devrukhkar’s Marathi movie Boyz (2017) became a surprise hit. Co-produced by Eros International, Avadhoot Gupte and Supreme Motion Pictures Production, the film starred Parth Bhalerao, Sumant Shinde and Pratik Lad.
Boyz 2, the sequel of the film, is also heading in the same direction. The brand name and the fun content seems to have worked wonders at the box office. As per our trade sources, the film has earned close to Rs13 crore at the ticket window. The film was released across Maharashtra on 5 October in 375 screens.

Eros International, the producers of the film, also had Hindi films like Andhadhun and Tumbbad which were released this week. While Andhadhun has become a hit, Tumbbad has been appreciated widely and has had a jump in collections.
Speaking on their recent films, Sunil Lulla, managing director of Eros said in an official statement, “It’s been an interesting mix of genres that we have presented to audiences this month, from comedy to horror and crime thriller, each of which has met with a very encouraging response. We want to continue remaining focused on contributing good cinema across languages that caters to all audience taste.”
Boyz 2 also had the cast of the three boys — Bhalerao, Shinde and Lad — carried on from the first film.
